Power steering, as the name suggests, is to help the driver adjust the direction of the car and reduce the strength of the driver when turning the steering wheel. Of course, power steering also plays a certain role in the safety and economy of car driving.

According to the current power steering system configured on the car and the information I can see, it can be roughly divided into three categories: (1) one is the mechanical hydraulic power steering system; (2) One is electro-hydraulic power steering system; (3) Another kind of electric power steering system.

1、 Mechanical hydraulic power steering system

1. Mechanical hydraulic power steering system is generally composed of hydraulic pump, oil pipe, pressure flow control valve body, V-shaped transmission belt, oil storage tank and other components.

2. No matter whether the car is steered or not, this system must work, and when the steering speed is low, the hydraulic pump needs to output more power to obtain greater assistance. Therefore, it also wastes resources to a certain extent. It can be recalled that when driving such a car, especially when turning at low speed, I feel that the direction is relatively heavy and the engine is relatively laborious. Due to the high pressure of the hydraulic pump, it is also relatively easy to damage the power assist system.

In addition, the mechanical hydraulic power steering system is composed of hydraulic pump, pipeline and oil cylinder. In order to maintain pressure, no matter whether the steering power is required or not, the system must be in working state, with high energy consumption, which is also very resource consuming.

Most cars use mechanical hydraulic power assist system.

Pay attention to the maintenance. Try to avoid killing the direction at ordinary times, so as not to make it in a fatigue state, which has extended its service life. Replace the booster oil according to the KM number specified in the manufacturer's instructions. Changing the booster oil often can make the pump work in a relaxed and active environment, making it work easier and have a longer service life.
